About Us

Obesity is recognized as a chronic disease by the CDC and provider organizations. It should also be recognized by patients, the public, and the health insurance community. This is the core of why our alliance has come together. We must educate about obesity as a chronic condition and ensure patients and their healthcare providers have access to the full array of tools available to help them improve this disease and decrease its impact on the social, emotional, and physical health of people battling obesity. ​Their tool kit should include:
• An analysis of all the issues contributing to the disease
• Testing for issues contributing to the disease
• Lifestyle factors review
• Emotional and behavioral support
• Medications (for all conditions including anti-obesity medications or AOMs)
• Surgical options
